At Tusa, we honor the inherent value of every ingredient, recognizing the sentimental, humane, and cultural significance attached to each item sourced from our suppliers or harvested from our landscapes and forests. Mother Nature has blessed upon us a wealth of uncommon and unexplored ingredients, nestled within our pathways and wild landscapes. Our journey to reinvent Nepalese cuisine begins with the wild morel mushroom, harvested from the remote Humla Region, and continues with treasures like Dale Chuk (sea buckthorn), wild freshwater eel, Yak dairy products, Mustang Apple, Jumla Marsi Rice, and many more locally sourced ingredients.
Each dish at Tusa tells a story of heritage and sustainability, celebrating the diversity of Nepal’s culinary landscape while supporting local farmers and preserving our natural resources. With each taste, diners engage on a gastronomic voyage, experiencing Nepalese delicacies in a modern and innovative way. We seek to explore and celebrate Nepal’s 118 biodiversity, ensuring a sustainable and authentic dining experience for our guests. We believe in the fusion of culture with modern taste. Tusa is more than just a restaurant; it’s a celebration of Nepal’s rich culinary heritage and a testament to our commitment to innovation and sustainability. Tusa is located in the well-known Basuki Ghar, which is owned and occupied by Mr. Puri and his family. We highlight the need of showing respect and decency to the building, its residents, and the surrounding neighborhood.
Tusa, which spans three floors, offers a unique eating experience. The lower level has a café, bar, terrace, dishwashing area, and service kitchen. The first floor has an open wood fire grill, while the production kitchen is in the basement. We also have an outdoor pavilion dedicated to motivating hospitality students with the world’s best restaurant cookbooks.
